Tanderup Church - Bike and Hike Friends
Originally, Tanderup Church was a Romanesque granite church, constructed from granite blocks. Remnants of the old church can be seen on the north side, where traces of Romanesque windows and a door are still visible.
Tanderup Church, located between Assens and Middelfart, dates back to the Middle Ages, around 1200, though the baptismal font is even older, from approximately 1100. The church also features modern religious art, including a crucifix by Lotte Olsen from 1995. Facilities at the church include toilets/accessible toilets and water, and you can rest on a bench under the shade of the trees.
The church is an open road church but may be closed to visitors due to weddings, funerals, holidays, or vacations.
